The Alamo had fallen into disrepair, but since 1905 the Daughters of the Republic of Texas have been taking care of The Alamo. The Alamo is now essentially a museum and is one of the top tourist attractions in all of Texas garnering over four million visitors each year.
People can take tours of The Alamo and see the chapel and barracks. There is also a museum containing paintings, muskets, cannons, and other antiquities from the battle.
