About 260 Texas troops held off the 1,500 Mexican soldiers for 13 days. Eventually The Alamo fell, but the Mexican Army sustained a huge casualty rate. The soldiers of The Alamo (almost all perished) were viewed as patriotic martyrs after the battle. |
