Gregor Mendel

     

Gregor Mendel was a bright student and was accepted to the Philosophic Institute at Olomouc, and then decided to enter the priesthood by attending the Augustinian Order at St. Thomas Monastery.

The St. Thomas Monastery that Mendel attended was a well-known scientific and cultural center that had many popular scientists as members. The monastery was renowned for its research and teaching.
