During the 1800’s there was discrimination towards women entering any areas of the medical profession. This discrimination prevented women from practicing nursing, but the public outcry of the conditions of British soldiers changed this policy. Did you find the 3 changes? Florence Nightingale volunteered to lead a team of nurses to help out in the Army hospitals in Turkey. After arriving, the women found the sanitary conditions at the hospitals - grossly unacceptable.
