Florence Nightingale

     

Florence Nightingale began her nursing studies at a school in Kaiserwerth Germany, and then worked at a women’s hospital in London. When Russia invaded Turkey, France and England came to the aid of Turkey in what would be called the Crimean War. As the Crimean War progressed, news of casualties of wounded soldiers spread throughout England. Large numbers of soldiers were dying of diseases like cholera due to wounds the received.
