Galileo Galilei

Another of Galileo’s astronomical discoveries was that of the “phases of Venus.” Galileo also studied the planet Venus with his telescope and made drawings of the observational changes in the planet. This photo is a painting of Galileo showing his telescope to the Mayor of Venice - can you find the three differences in this photo hunt puzzle?

After observing Venus for several months Galileo noticed that the planet was going through “phases” similar to the phases of our moon. With these observations Galileo believed that they proved Copernicus’ theory that the planets revolved around the sun (heliocentric theory) rather than the Earth (geocentric theory).
