The Forbidden City

     

The Forbidden City is located in Beijing China and was the royal palace of the Ming Dynasty. The Forbidden City got its name from the fact that outsiders were not allowed into the palace without permission from the emperor. The Forbidden Citys purpose as the headquarters and palace of the emperor lasted 500 years through the Qing Dynasty. Now it is a mammoth museum and attracts tourists from all over the world.
