George Washington

     

By 1753 French and Indian War started and launched George Washingtons military career. The Governor of Virginia divided command of the state militia into four regions and George applied for a post. He was appointed to a role of training the militia in his region.

Washington fought in several battles and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel, and then he began transitioning from state militia to the British Army. Because of his service he became the personal liaison for General Braddock.
