Johann Gutenberg

     

Johannes Gutenberg (c. 1398 - February 3, 1468) was a German printer and inventor who invented the movable-type printing press. The new technology led to an information revolution allowing books to be created more easily. Johann Gutenberg was born in Mainz Germany. His parents Freile and Else were involved in the cloth trade and were well-to-do in the community.
