Taj Mahal

     

The Taj Mahals dome and walls were originally covered and studded with precious and semi-precious stones and gems. Some of the gems used were topaz, sapphire, and even diamonds. Part of the Taj Mahals workforce was the use of 1000 elephants that supposedly carried the tons of marble used to construct the monument. The Taj Mahal is also known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
