Stonehedge
Around 1700 BC another phase of Stonehenge took place, where smaller upright stones were placed inside the sarsens. One of the final phases of Stonehenge occurred around 1300 BC. Another mystery of Stonehenge is the exact purpose of the site. Scientists have theorized that the monument was used for; a monument to the sun, a monument to the moon, an astronomical observatory, a burial ground, a religious site, or a combination of any/all of these. |
