Venice

The Sinking of Venice has become a problem for the city. Many people attribute the problem to rising ocean levels, but that is not the case. The problem of Venice sinking came from attempted modernization in the early 1900s. This photo shows the Grand Canal of Venice - can you find the three differences in this photo hunt puzzle?

In the early part of the 1900s individuals in Venice began getting fresh water from artesian wells that were under the city. The extraction of the water created huge problems for the city of Venice by lowering the upward pressure of the well and thus Venice started sinking.
