The Grand Canyon

     

Many explorers visited the Grand Canyon during the 1800s. Numerous visitors to the Grand Canyon were artists and photographers that helped tell easterners how magnificent the canyon was. In 1903, Teddy Roosevelt visited the Grand Canyon and remarked about its beauty. He established a game preserve at the canyon several years later. Then in 1919 President Woodrow Wilson made the Grand Canyon a US National Park.
