After the 6-Day War was over in June 1967, Israel reclaimed the area of the West Bank including Jerusalem, and the Dome of the Rock came under Israeli control. Israel allowed Muslims to continue to oversee the Dome of the Rock and now the building is open to non-Muslims during certain hours of the day. |
