Gregor Mendel

Gregor Mendel wanted to experiment with crossbreeding in trying to create new plant variants. Mendels experiments lasted 7 years and he tested a total of 29,000 pea plants.

Mendels research showed that the peas had dominant and recessive traits. The results showed that 25% were purebred dominant, 25% were purebred recessive, and the remaining 50% were hybrid dominant/recessive.
