Franklin D. Roosevelt

     

He quickly moved up the political ladder by being appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, and then running against Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge as the vice-presidential candidate. After the Vice presidential loss he became the Governor of New York in 1928.

Roosevelt for President and was elected to his first term when unemployment was skyrocketing and almost every bank in the nation was closing. In his first hundred days" of office, Roosevelt enacted sweeping social programs and works projects to help aid the American people and businesses.
