Shakespeare began writing tragedies and most of which are considered to be the greatest literary works ever - these include Hamlet, King Lear, and Macbeth. As Shakespeare grew older he wrote fewer plays and he eventually passed away at the age of 52 at his home in Stratford. A testament to his contribution to literature is the fact that his popularity continues to grow, and adaptations of his work are seen extensively in stories and present day movies. |
