Harriet Tubman

     

Harriet Tubman started to become famous as she helped more families to escape, and even was wanted by the law. She got the nickname of Moses, by leading many of her people to freedom. During the Civil War Harriet became a spy for the Union Army and even worked as a nurse. Harriet remarried and focused on helping foster the rights of African-Americans. She spent the last years of her life at her home telling exciting stories to visitors before she passed away at the age of 93.
