Radio Transmission

Many of the first uses of the radio were for military purposes. Radio was used to transmit commands for field personnel and information on troop movements during World War I. This photo shows a naval officer working a large radio - can you find the three differences in this photo hunt puzzle?

Another use of radio was the invention of radar (Radio Detection And Ranging). Radar used radio transmissions to detect objects by transmitting and bouncing waves off the objects. Radar was widely used in WWII.
